The MacBook Pro “Core i7” 3.0 13-Inch (Mid-2014 Retina Display) originally only was offered as a “configure-to-order” configuration for both the\u00a0MacBook Pro “Core i5” 2.6 13-Inch (Mid-2014 Retina Display)<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0MacBook Pro “Core i5” 2.8 13-Inch (Mid-2014 Retina Display)<\/a>, but Apple later sold it as a standard configuration, too.\u00a0The processor (and the corresponding larger level 3 cache), are the only substantial differences between this model and its lower-end brethren.<\/i><\/p>\n

The MacBook Pro “Core i7” 3.0 13-Inch (Mid-2014 Retina Display) features a 22 nm “Haswell” 3.0 GHz Intel “Core i7” processor (4578U), with dual independent processor “cores” on a single silicon chip, a 4 MB shared level 3 cache, 8 GB of\u00a0onboard<\/i>\u00a01600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (which could be upgraded to 16 GB at the time of purchase, but\u00a0cannot<\/i>\u00a0be upgraded later), 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of PCIe-based flash storage (512 GB in MGXD2LL\/A standard configuration), and an integrated Intel Iris 5100 graphics processor that shares memory with the system. It also has an integrated 720p FaceTime HD webcam, and a high-resolution LED-backlit 13.3″ widescreen 2560×1600 (227 ppi) “Retina” display in a case that weighs just less than 3.5 pounds (1.57 kg). It does not have an internal optical drive.<\/p>\n
